Gunel Behbudova was born on April 3, 1988 in Baku. From an early age she was fond of drawing and needlework. In 2010 she graduated with honors from the Azerbaijan State Academy of Art as a fashion designer.  In the same year Gunel became a member of the Union of Artists, later in 2012 was awarded the Presidential Scholarship of the Union of Artists.  In 2010 in Baku it opens boutique of exclusive evening dresses "Fashion Mystery", which founder is Gunel Behbudova.  Here along with the collection "haute couture" started to produce "pret-a-porte", besides that Gunel Behbudova is the designer of exclusive shoes as well as accessories and jewelry.  She also specializes in creating her own line of wedding dresses, and for this purpose in 2014 she opened a boutique "Bridal Couture".  Gunel constantly takes part and is the winner of many exhibitions and fashion shows taking place in Azerbaijan and abroad, as well as in most CIS countries and Europe.  In 2009, she won the festival of young fashion designers. In January 2013 is the participant of the exhibition of Applied Art, which is held in Paris.  On October 19, 2013 was awarded an honorary diploma of the International Azerbaijani-Georgian festival.  In 2013 she participated in the exhibition "Tradition and modernity in the work of talented young people.  On January 31, 2014, Gunel Behbudova became the winner of the fashion designer of the year award.  In May of the same year she presented her collection and was member of the jury at the 23rd Republican festival-contest of fashion "Fashion Mill" of the Republic of Belarus.  On September 13, 2014 she participated in the fashion show "Fashion night" and in September 2014 the participants of the beauty contest "Miss Globe International" held in Azerbaijan presented the outfits designed by Gunel Behbudova.  On November 22, 2014 Gunel Behbudova presented her new collection at "Baku Fashion Week" event.  

In May 2015 she also participated in "Azerbaijan Fashion Week". Gunel Behbudova also participated in the World EXPO exhibition held in Milan from May 1 to October 31, 2015. In August 2015 the show of Summer swimwear and evening wear collection spring-summer'15 together with the famous singer - Low Deep took place.  On January 25, 2016, the Fairmont Hotel hosted the Spring-Summer 2016 Children's Fashion Show, which was created for moms and their children. In the same year the children's fashion show Fall-Winter 2016-2017 was held. In 2016 "Azerbaijan's Best Awards of Zirva Ziyalilar Organization" nominated Gunel Behbudova as "Best Fashion Designer".On 17th of March 2017 in Four Seasons Hotel a charity evening was held, where Gunel Behbudova was awarded with a statuette by the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan for her work (she received a plaquet from Erkan Ozoral). In 2017, she participated in the Mercedes-Benz fashion week show with her outerwear collection on November 17. On October 30, 2018, she joined the directors of the Azerbaijan Designers Association. On April 29, 2018 participated with a show at the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Azerbaijan. On April 30, 2018 participated in a fashion event organized by the British Embassy in Baku at the Media Center. On January 26, 2018 participated in an event organized by Nargis Magazine, held at the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Paris. On September 30, 2019 for the first time in Azerbaijan was held a grand event Millionaire Estate Baku ("Millionaire Estate Club") with the participation of celebrities from different countries, where she was appointed ambassadors and where was held a show of collection of Gunel Behbudova. On November 22, 2019 participated in Azerbaijan Fashion Week with autumn winter collection at Dash Salname muzey. On November 15, 2019 participated in Baku Fashion Expo 2019 Midseason which was held in Baku Business Center. On December 13, 2019 was held a show of the new collection with the support of Fashion TV, where she was awarded the Fashion TV award. On March 11, 2020 was held a private Fashion Avenue show, which was held at Lavenue Baku.On March 13th, 2021 was awarded the Azerbaijan Woman Awards.
